Feng Ziming& Teachers from College of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Won Science and Technology Invention Award in Petroleum and Chemical Industry
Recently, China National Association for Automation in Petroleum and Chemical Industry announced the winners for the 2022 China Petroleum and Chemical Automation Industry Science and Technology Awards. The project of "Optimization and Energy-saving Technology for Rod-pumped Wells and Its Scale Application", completed by Professor Feng Ziming, Professor Xiang Jiawei, and Associate Professor Huang Shenquan from the College of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, with Wenzhou University as the first completion unit, was awarded the first prize for the 2022 Science and Technology Invention Award in petroleum and chemical automation industry.
Approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Science and Technology Invention Award in petroleum and chemical automation industry was established in October 2004. It is a nationwide industry-based science and technology award hosted by China National Association for Automation in Petroleum and Chemical Industry. This provincial-level award is given annually with significant influence in the petroleum and chemical industries.
With the collaborative efforts of the team led by Professor Feng Ziming from the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Daqing Oilfield Co., LTD., Northeast Petroleum University and other institutions for many years, this project has improved the energy-saving technology and supporting equipment of mechanical oil recovery, and has been widely used in many domestic oil fields.
The project has promoted the technological innovation of oil and gas well development in China, providing important theoretical and technical support to ensure the domestic production of 200 million tons of crude oil and achieve the energy-saving and low-carbon goals of the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan.
