Happenings at WZU

Cooperation between Wenzhou University and Zhejiang Lab reached

On the morning of January 26, Zheng Yuhua, Deputy Director of Zhejiang Lab and his colleagues visited Wenzhou University, and attended the meeting about cooperating with Wenzhou Model Development Institute led by Professor Shi Kan on the research project of "Intelligent Evaluation of Core Competency Models for High-end Talents in the Yangtze River Delta". Zhao Min and Tang Wenjie, the leaders of WZU also attended the meeting. 

Zhao Min, President of WZU extended a warm welcome to the arrival of experts from Zhejiang Lab. He pointed out that since its establishment by WZU, the Wenzhou Model Development Research Institute has undertaken one key project funded by the National Social Science Fund and one major provincial project of philosophy and society in emerging fields, which lays an important foundation for project of "Intelligent Evaluation of Core Competency Models for High-end Talents in the Yangtze River Delta". The cooperation between o Zhejiang Lab and Wenzhou University will greatly improve the research of intelligent evaluation of high-end talents and the computing and human resource power.


Professor Tang Wenjie introduced the overall construction and development of Wenzhou University to colleagues from Zhejiang Lab.

Professor Zheng Yuhua, Deputy Director of Zhejiang Lab, introduced the overview of the Lab. It is a new type of mixed-ownership R&D institution jointly built by Zhejiang Provincial Government, Zhejiang University and Alibaba. The lab focuses on the four research directions of intelligent perception, intelligent computing, intelligent networks and intelligent systems, to build itself into a world-leading basic research and technology Innovation center. Prof. Zheng specifically introduced the Artificial Intelligence Social Experimental Research Center, and said that he would work with the Wenzhou Model Development Research Institute to promote the research on intelligent evaluation of the core competency model of high-end talents in the Yangtze River Delta.

Professor Shi Kan, Director of Wenzhou Model Development Research Institute pointed out that the shortage of high-end innovative talents was the shortcoming that restricted the development. He proposed that research can be carried out through "Intelligent Matching of Personality Test Selection", "Competency Modeling of High-end Talents", and "Systematic Evaluation of Culture, Leadership and Team Building". Finally, a "big data aggregation intelligent evaluation visualization platform" should be built for the selection, recruitment and performance evaluation of high-end talents. 

The experts also fully discussed the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Zhejiang Lab Artificial Intelligence Social Experimental Research Center and Wenzhou Model Development Research Institute of Wenzhou University", and the two sides agreed on the establishment of a strategic cooperative relationship.

Prof. Zheng Yuhua, on behalf of Zhejiang Lab, issued a letter of appointment to Professor Shi Kan as "Specially-appointed Expert of the Human Resources Department of Zhejiang Lab". This meeting marked the formal establishment of the cooperation between Wenzhou University and Zhejiang Lab.
